The Water Corporation is making repairs to the burst water main on the corner of Avon Terrace and South Street.
The Shire has been advised that the road will be opened again tonight with short term repairs to the road in place for the weekend.
Next week further inspections and repairs will be made to restore the bitumen surface as soon as possible.
People may experience some discoloured water over the next few days.
