LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
Candidate Information Evening
5.30pm Tuesday 29 August 2023
Local Government Elections will be held on Saturday 21 October 2023, with four (4) positions on Council to be filled.
Nominations to run for Council will open from Thursday 31 August 2023 and close at 4.00pm (WST) on Thursday 7 September 2023.
In conjunction with the Returning Officer, Ms Sarah Fitzsimmons, the Shire of York is hosting a Candidate Information Session for anyone wanting to understand the commitments of a Shire Councillor. The Information Session will be held on Tuesday 29 August 2023 in Council Chambers, First Floor, York Town Hall commencing at 5.30pm. The Session will immediately follow the Special Council Meeting being held at 5.00pm to adopt the 2023/24 Budget.
The Information Session will detail the election process arrangements for prospective candidates and what is expected in being a Councillor. Attendance at the Session is voluntary but strongly encouraged.
