The Shire of York has unveiled the Experience York App, a new mobile application that showcases York creating an engaging and intuitive way for visitors to research, plan, and experience their visit.
With interactive maps, linked to the device’s GPS, the locate icon works without mobile data and allows users to navigate when sightseeing and following trails. The App features: Attractions & Museums; Walking & Cycling Tours; Heritage & Buildings; Galleries, Antiques & Collectables; Food & drink; Camping; For Kids; Shopping; Self-drive Tours; Accommodation; Parks & Nature; Events and Activities & Services.
“The Experience York App has been designed to be as useful and informative for locals as it is to first-time or regular visitors” said Chris Linnell, CEO Shire of York. “Businesses will be able to promote the app using a QR code through their social channels and visitor areas.”
The App is available to download free on the App Store and Google Play. Open either store and search "Experience York".
Promotional material will be supplied to tourism businesses and Shire Officers will be at the York Business Association meeting on 26 June to demonstrate the Experience York App.
