Impact of latest measures on Shire of York services and facilities Published on Monday, 30 March 2020 at 1:09:43 PM On Sunday 29 March, the Australian Government announced the following new measures in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Public gatherings, excluding household members, have been reduced to a maximum of two people. Public playgrounds, outside gyms and skate parks will be closed from tomorrow. Everyone should stay home unless you are: shopping for the things you really need, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education People aged over 70, aged over 60 with pre-existing conditions, or Indigenous people aged over 50 should stay home wherever possible for their own protection. How will these measures affect the York Community? The Shire Administration Office will close to public access from Tuesday 31 March. Remember - there are three key things we can all do to help slow the spread: Stay home as much as possible. Keep 1.5 metres (or two arm lengths) away from other people wherever possible Practice good hygiene, like washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or using hand sanitiser.
