PHYTHOPTERA DIEBACK SURVEY ON MT BROWN/WONGBOREL Published on Tuesday, 29 October 2019 at 1:51:33 PM PHYTHOPTERA DIEBACK SURVEY ON MT BROWN/WONGBOREL 8.30AM 4 NOVEMBER 2019 As part of the Trails Master Plan process, the Shire of York has commissioned the specialist firm TERRATREE to undertake a Phythoptera Dieback survey on the hill. Phythoptera are species of soil moisture-borne fungal infections which can have severe effects on vegetation. The dryness of the area and the vegetation types present make the hill a very low risk area but as a precautionary measure this survey is being undertaken to establish whether there are any types of dieback pathogens present. Small soil samples are taken and tested in the process. You are invited to meet Joe Grehan, the expert from TERRATREE, before he sets out on the survey at the Lookout , 8.30am, Monday 4 November, or contact him by email on joeg@terratree.com.au Further information about Dieback can be found at https://www.dwg.org.au/about-dieback/phytophthora-dieback/ and https://www.dpaw.wa.gov.au/management/pests-diseases/phytophthora-dieback Back to All News
