Public Consultation - Draft Local Planning Strategy and Scheme
The Shire of York has prepared a draft Local Planning Strategy and Local Planning Scheme.
This strategy will provide a long-term vision, goal and objective to guide future land use and development of the Shire. The new local planning strategy and scheme will support the Council’s Strategic Community Plan. The Strategy will focus on the exciting future plans for the Shire of York.
Information, ideas and feedback from the community gathered during previous stages of the project has been used in the development of the strategy and scheme. Now that the strategies have been prepared, we are planning another community information session to ensure your feedback has been properly captured.
David Wallace, the Shire President encourages the community to get involved “With the preparation of the Strategic Community Plan we had a really constructive conversation with the community about the vision for the Shire. Now, the review of our Local Planning Strategy and Scheme gives us the opportunity to continue this discussion and, in partnership with the community, plan for the future of York.”
How to get involved:
The Shire welcomes written submissions on the draft Local Planning Strategy and Scheme until the 7 August 2019. Submissions should be addressed to the CEO.
Documents can be viewed on website https://www.york.wa.gov.au/services/planning/local-planning-strategy.aspx or in-person at the Shire offices or at the Western Australian Planning Commission, Perth.
The Shire’s consultants will be available to answer any questions you have to assist in developing a submission at an information session. Drop in anytime between 9am and 4pm on Saturday 8 June 2019 at the Lesser Hall, York Town Hall.
