At the Special Meeting of Electors on Tuesday 20 July 2021 a request signed by 121 electors was made to discuss the following:
"Defer any further discussion on the transaction to outsource management of the York Recreation Community Centre (YRCC) and Forrest Oval Precinct (FOP) until:
- Shire of York to prepare a business plan for the disposal (sale or lease) of the YRCC and FOP to be provided to the community for consultation.
- Provide a four-week period for the community to review and discuss the business plan with the Shire of York executive.
- The Shire of York to provide a breakdown of the actual operating costs and revenue separately of the YRCC and FOP for the past three years and the estimated forecast for the next three years."
The Shire commissioned an independent consultancy, Hudson Howells, to prepare the business case.
The community is now invited to review the business case and associated financial information during the consultation period commencing on Wednesday 18 August 2021 and closing at noon on Tuesday 14 September 2021.
The documents are available on the Shire website (below) and in hard copy at the Shire Office front counter and YRCC.
Public information sessions will be held on:
- Thursday 26 August 2021 at 6pm, York Town Hall
- Monday 6 September 2021 at 11am, York Town Hall
- Wednesday 8 September 2021 at 3pm, York Town Hall
Registrations for the information sessions should be made by email to records@york.wa.gov.au, phone 9641 0500, by completing the registration form at the Shire Office front counter or YRCC.
Submissions on the business case must be lodged in writing with the undersigned on or before 12 noon on Tuesday 14 September 2021 and should include the name and contact details of the submitter and details of the submission. Submission forms are available on the Shire website, Shire Office front counter or the YRCC.
Formal submissions will be presented to Council at its September Ordinary Council Meeting to be held on Tuesday 28 September 2021.
