Avon Park

Avon Park was extensively re-developed in June 2020. Located in Lowe Street, Avon Park is a large grassed area which runs alongside the Avon River. It is one of the most popular parks in York.

There are free electric BBQ facilities with picnic tables and seating, toilets & a Nature Play playground area and Skate Park. 

There is also a Sound Stage available for performances and presentations. The electricity key for the Sound Stage can be collected from the Shire Office with a small fee payable. 

On the North side of the park there is the Swinging Bridge which crosses the river and is a popular viewing spot for many tourists.

The rotunda located by the Swinging Bridge is the trail head for the Avon River Walk Trail.
