Containers for Change


Your local refund point is at the Shire Depot in Maxwell Street. 

Open:  Wednesdays and Saturdays 10.00am - 2.00pm 

Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible.

Please......

  • Make sure containers are CLEAN and cleared of any contamination. Contamination includes: sand, cigarette butts, sharps and lemon/lime, plus much more.
  • Sort and count your containers before into their types (glass, aluminium, plastic etc) as this will assist in processing your containers quicker.
  • Remove lids 

If you would like to bag up your containers for us to count and process later so you don’t have to wait, just make sure to mark your bag clearly with your Scheme ID, Full Name and Contact Number. Alternatively, put your details on paper inside a sealed plastic sleeve and pop that in your bag.

You’ll receive 10 cents for every eligible container you return, and you can keep or donate this to your favourite community group.

You can also have the money deposited straight into your bank account by signing up for a Scheme ID at www.containersforchange.com.au.
