Community Funding Program – OCTOBER 2024

Community Funding – Grants and Sponsorship Program

For projects and events occurring after December 2024

Funding awarded in this round must be acquitted by 1 June 2025

The Community Funding Program is offering two funding streams, with a focus on community supported and facilitated programs, services and projects that contribute to the social, environmental and cultural development of the Shire of York.

Minor Grants 

  • Assistance to incorporated groups and organisations that provide programs, services or activities to the following sectors of the community: Aged, Youth, Disadvantaged, Early Childhood & Families, Volunteers, Sport, Recreation & Environment.
  • 100% of the total project costs may be considered, with applications up to $2,000 available.

Individuals may also apply for funding as part of the Minor funding stream:

  • Up to $250 for individuals attending an event / activity, representing at a state level and
  • Up to $500 for individuals attending an event / activity, representing at National level.
  • Individuals applying for funding to attend a sporting or cultural event must provide proof of their selection through a formal qualifying process.
  • Up to 100% of the total costs may be considered, up to the maximum of $500.

Major Grants

  • Assistance to incorporated groups and organisations within the Shire of York for infrastructure development, upgrades and open space revitalisation.
  • Applications must directly benefit one of the following sectors of the community. Aged, Youth, Disadvantaged, Early Childhood & Families, Volunteers, Sport, Recreation & Environment.
  • A maximum allocation of 60% of the total project cost, with a maximum application amount of up to $10,000 available.

Application forms, guidelines and Council’s policy regarding eligibility for Community funding can be found on the Shire of York website and hard copies are available from the Shire Office.

The closing date for receipt of Applications is 12.00 noon on Thursday 31st October 2024.

All applications received will be assessed and presented to Council for consideration at the next Ordinary Council Meeting.

To discuss potential applications, appointment times are available on the following days:

  • Thursday 17th October
  • Wednesday 23rd October
  • Friday 25th October
